How to Use Blenders Properly
Making green drink is easy and you know that you’re improving your health every time you drink it. But if you’re not using your blender properly, you might end up with a mess instead of a morning treat. The green drink blenders that are available are similar to traditional blenders, but they also need to be able to continue to do their job – blending together vegetables and other ingredients day after day.
Using the Controls
When you first buy a green drink blender, you’ll want to begin by reading the instructional manual and watching the video that comes along with your purchase. While it might seem silly to read instructions to use a blender, since there are so many blenders available now, with new functions, you want to see what your blender can do and what the manufacturer recommends. Start by using the lowest speed setting that you can to see if the consistency works for your green drink needs, and if not, then increase the speed until you have blended all the ingredients together.
Making Your Drink
As you make your green drink, you’ll want to make sure you are using some liquid in order to ensure the ingredients can blend together. This liquid might come from the ingredients, for example. You will also want to make sure that you have cut the ingredients up to the size that the blender manufacturer recommends. In time, you’ll find what works for you and what works for your blender’s temperament.
Storing Your Green Drink
Once you have made your green drink, it’s ideal to drink it immediately. As a drink sits in storage, it can become less nutrient packed as the vegetables begin to break down. If you must store the leftovers, store them in a glass container with a cover in the refrigerator. This will slow the breakdown process as much as possible so you still get all of the benefits of drinking green drink.
Cleaning Your Machine
After you are done with the green drink making, then you will want to clean the machine each time. Getting into this habit will make sure the blender is able to work well for a long time. Start by unplugging the unit and removing the main blending part. Take it apart as much as is possible, rinsing out any excess vegetables and other ingredients before you add any cleanser. If you have a natural plant-based soap, this is ideal. Use just a little to wash out the inside of the blender as well as the lid. Rinse well and then allow to air dry. It’s not advisable to use the dishwasher for your blender as this process can damage the blades.
Using your blender properly begins with reading the directions first. While you might be excited to make green drink, you need to make sure that you’re not ruining the health of your blender in the process.
